| I absolutely love this horse and I am so pleased to have these outstanding appaloosa bloodlines in our breeding program. ~Lots of concentrated loud leopard appaloosa genetics in these lines! ~ Blizzard is lab tested homozygous for black and is therefore negative for the chestnut gene. His original owners said he was born black, but changed to a reddish shade when he was about 2 years old. The combination of the appaloosa gene with the dun gene is what makes him look red.
