Star Spangled Dancer AMHR Foaled
6-13-08 at 7:00 pm NOT FOR SALE This spectacular pintaloosa filly is named
after one of the famous Egyptian Queens...Nefertari. We are indebted
to our special dog, ZimZum (see photos below), who saved this babies life.
Although I knew the mare was waxed up and close to foaling, and I had put
on her halter monitor, for some reason I left my foaling pager in my home
office and went to the kitchen to cook dinner. I had the dishwasher
running as well, and then I proceeded to the utility room where the dryer
was running and started to hang up clothes, so needless to say I did not
hear the foaling pager go off. My hired help was finishing up the
evening feeding and sweeping up the barn aisleways when he heard the dog
barking at the mare while sitting outside the mares' stall. He went
over to check what she was barking at and the mare had delivered the foal
and the foal was still in the sac struggling & gasping for air.
He had only been working for us a few months and had not been present for
a foal birth before. He started to come to the house to get me, but
then he remembered that I had told him how important it was to get
the sac off the babies head ASAP. So he quickly removed the sac off
her head, before running to the house to get me. Needless to say
this foal was watched over by heaven's angels and both ZimZum and my helper
are being rewarded for their role in saving this beautiful filly.

***SOLD*** WOW! What a great cross this was with our
new black mare, Harley, and our bay leopard stallion, Cochise. This
little guy is tiny, only about 19" tall, and what knock-out color this
boy has!!! He is tiny, perfect, and Oh, ever so beautiful!!!
We're thinking we may want to keep him for a future breeding stallion for
our appy program.
